Back to School

I know this is a late update, Travis has been back to school (well Mother's Day out program) for almost 6 weeks now, but I wanted to include it some pics and info on the blog. Travis only attends school on Tuesday and Thursdays, but it really helps out with me working from home, and my mom watching him during the day for a few hours Monday, Wed, and Friday.

He is doing much better this year, I don't have to drop him off screaming, he actually wants to go and walks in by himself. He finally is starting to use his teachers name, and coming home and telling me about his new friends. Well new friend Joshua, other than that he just talks about cousin Taylor:)

Here is his first day back to school.

Travis has also really started using his imagination.

He loves to pretend to cook me dinner

Play with his army men

And build train tracks for his trains.

House update

Well the good news is that we were able to get the roof fixed before the rain we got last week. The bad news is that we still haven't been able to get the work done to fix Travis' room. The good news is that Travis has taken to sleeping in the guest room that I redecorated with alot of his stuff.

We hope to get something started on his room this week. I just hope we don't have any problems moving him back in there when the time comes.

HURRICANE IKE

I will start off by saying everyone is fine!!!!

I was on a cruise with my sister, mom and Aunt during the actual hurricane and Allen took Travis to Brad's families ranch house west of Austin for a long weekend.

The bad news is that we had a tree hit the front left corner of the house, right over Travis' room. There is a big whole in the roof and alot of water damage to the room. I will post pictures soon.

Allen and Travis returned to Houston on Sunday and I returned on Monday. Thank you to our neighbor who weathered the storm to try to cover the whole in the roof, and Bill who went back after the storm was over and put some wood and tarp over it the cover it even better, and cut the tree off of the house.

After Allen got home Bill went with him to the house and shot video of the damage, then cut out the damaged drywall, and removed the damaged carpet and pad so we could reduce our chances of mildew and further damage. This was a huge help, so thank you again Bill.

We were without power until Saturday afternoon, and just got cable back today, I feel like I am part of civilization again:)

The insurance adjuster came by yesterday and it looks like we should be able to get the work started to fix the room and Travis' room sometime next week. (Travis is currently sleeping in the guest room, and will keep the full size bed even after we move him back into his old room, he is soooooo excited!)

Anyway to end this long explaniation I am back to work, and although Allen's dealership is still power less they told him to come back tomorrow.

I hope everyone is well, I know it is been a rough week or so for everyone, hang in there:)

JULY- What a busy month!

This summer has been so busy, between making fun trips to the lake, going to the circus for the first time, fun birthday parties, and going to Splashtown atleast once a week. I am going to need a vacation from this summer:)

Well Travis is 2 1/2 now, and talking up a storm. It is great to be able to have a converstation with him, but in turn we also have to watch what we say:)

We have been spending alot of time in the water this summer, with a season pass to Splashtown, and going to my Aunt's lake house on Lake LBJ close to Austin. Travis loves to swim...or if you ask him float since he wears his life jacket anytime we are in the water right now.

Travis is also really in to helping me in the kitchen. He helps me make pizza, cakes, and even breakfast for Dad on Father's Day.

FINALLY A NEW POSTING

Well I know it has been a while, but I am finally adding a new post to our blog.

Travis is getting so big, he talks like a parrott repeating everything he hears, and is a little monkey climbing all over everything.

We also went to the Rodeo this year, Travis always looks so cute in hats:)

We also got a chance to take some pics in the bluebonnets at Addy's 1st Birthday party.

He didn't want to sit there and have pictures taken...

But he did have fun running through them:)

Trip to Europe

In December I went on an European tour with WWE. We went to Belfast, Ierland, Frankfurt, Germany, and Zurich, Switzerland. Although I did get to visit these places which is really cool, I really only saw the airports, hotels, and arenas we were in for the shows. I did get a chance to walk around downtown Belfast close to our hotel on one day. Below is a picture of the Belfast City Hall. They had a huge farris wheel and Christmas Market right in front of City Hall during the holidays, it was pretty cool to go up in the farris and see what was around the area from above.

I had a great time in each of the countries, and luckly it wasn't as cold as it was predicted to be (it was suppose to be 30's and under). Hopefully I will get a chance to visit these places again and see more. I am also hoping to be able to go on another tour with WWE to see some new places:)

X-mas and New Years

All is well at the Nielsen household. We made it through the holiday season! Travis did much better this year with opening his presents, he was no longer interested in the boxes everything came in, but would open a present and want to stop and play with it right then. Knowing this would happen I actually took most of his new toys out of thier original boxes before I wrapped them to save time and having to deal with an inpatient child:)

We had a very family friendly New Years, a couple of friends came over with thier kids, and we celebrated the New York New Years so everyone could get home early. Total in attendance we had 5 kids 2yrs old or under, and 2 kids 5 and under, with a grand total of 7 kids and 7 adults, we need to watch it soon we are going to be out numbered. Luckly it wasn't as crazy as you would imagine, we all had fun:)

I am working on downloading some photos and videos soon, so check back.
